Albums

Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group played session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to lacking hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned the group, and they held auditions to find a replacement frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-received by fans, and the band embarked upon the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
